When you hear the words "dream school" come out of a prospect's mouth, you really find it hard to believe. But those words were spoken about the Vols by Eagles Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, GA) junior running back Keyante Green. Green, who has a spectacular list of possible suitors already, can easily figure out which one is the best for him right now.
"My trip to Tennessee was amazing. I loved it. It was probably the best visit that I have been to yet. Tennessee has always been a dream school of mind, and the visit, along with facilities, just made it over the top."
While a decision may not come for quite some time, it's a positive thing for Coach Dooley to startbuilding great relationships with some highly touted prospects in the next class.
"I built a great relationship with coach Chino Fotenette (UT RB Coach/Grad Asst). I also got to talk with the defensive coordinator (Justin Wilcox) along with all of the other coaches. I also got to spend some one-on-one time with Coach Dooley. I liked that he just wanted to get to know me as a man and a person and not just a football player. He showed a lot of love for me and told me that I would be the only running back that they will take our of my class."
Green is the only running back in the 2013 class to be offered by the Vols to this point. With that said, Green would be a big time get and help Tennessee's reputation some from a recruiting standpoint with potential five-star prospects.
For 2012, the Vols seem to be looking at scat back, or a more versatile back, to help bring more speed to the back field and on the special teams. But, in 2013, Green has shown great power and speed as well in starting in the highly competitive peach state as a sophomore.
Listed at 5'9 190 pounds, Green has been compared by some to Mark Ingram with a running style a lot like Emmitt Smith. While Emmitt Smith is a big name to live up to, the rising junior might be able to come close.
"I think I can be very explosive." Green started. "I idolize Barry Sanders and I think I do some of the things he used to do to."
Another positive note to go along with the Vols being on top is the fact that Green had some strong words about his decision.
"If I had to pick right now, I would most definitely pick Tennessee. I've just always had this love for Tennessee."
Green hopes to make his decision by July 2012. He currently holds big time offers from Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Boston College, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Kentucky, Wake Forest, and Syracuse. Green is also gaining a lot of interest from Alabama, Florida State, North Carolina, and Clemson.
