Terry Joseph, secondary coach and recruiting coordinator, has accepted a position on Bo Pelini's staff at Nebraska.
Joseph was a part of Derek Dooley's staff at Louisiana Tech before coming to Tennessee. In three years at Louisiana Tech, the Bulldogs secondary saw tremendous improvement and Joseph was named a top-5 non-BCS recruiter by Rivals.com.
Before coaching on Dooley's staff at Louisiana Tech, Joseph was a graduate assistant at LSU where he worked for head coach Les Miles and defensive coordinator Pelini.
In 2010, his first season on the Volunteers coaching staff, his defensive secondary unit totaled 18 interception; good for a top-20 finish nationally.
Last season, Tennessee's pass defense ranked 12th nationally allowing only 178 pass yards per game and a completion percentage of only 58 percent.
Two members of Joseph's secondary, safety Janzen Jackson and cornerback/safety Prentiss Waggner, earned All-SEC honors under his tutelage.
Joseph was slated to coach safeties this season as the Derrick Ansley was hired from the University of Central Florida to coach cornerbacks.
