Vols Land Needed Addition to the 2012 Class
Early Tuesday morning, Khalid Henderson, a linebacker from Pebblebrook HS (Austell,GA), received an offer from Tennessee. While talking with coach Dooley, Henderson told the head coach that he wanted to be a part of the Vol family.
While this only makes two (not counting WR Corey Smith) commitments for the 2012 class, the Vols may still rack up on commits during the summer.
The 6'2", 210-pound linebacker is very much an under-the-radar prospect. When we think about those types of players the the current Vols line backing crew comes to mind.
Henderson reminds me a lot of a bigger Raquis Crump.
Henderson brings a lot of upside with him. With a lot of speed and a great eye for the ball, Henderson will fit perfect into the defensive system that DC Justin Wilcox is trying to implement.
With his current weight of 210lbs, Henderson will need to add some beef to turn in to a SEC linebacker.
Along with Henderson, commit Corey Smith (Akron, OH WR) is the second pledge to new coach Peter Sirmon.
While many hope for high profile players, a lot of the best line backers are flying just under the radar--like Khalid Henderson.
